I'm Nikki James and I've been a professional photographer for 6 years, but have been passionate about photography for the last 18 - becoming a mom will do that to a girl...


It started with my need to make sure I captured every moment and milestone with my daughter, Lillyan, and then my son, Dawson. They are both super active kids and my photography took off by learning the best ways to capture stellar action shots during softball, basketball, and soccer games. Over the years, I have taken many classes and through trial and error have taught myself what it takes to shoot a GREAT picture. I want to share that knowledge and skill with you.


I specialize in Family Lifestyle Photos, Senior and Professional Portraits, and Engagement Pictures. I serve the greater Dayton, Ohio area which includes; Miami, Shelby, Montgomery, Darke, and Green counties. Capturing the many sweet, quirky, and authentic faces of my clients is my favorite part of the job.

Nikki and I have been friends for 10 years, and she has always taken our family pics, so when she decided to go professional, I jumped at the chance to help... I have been running my own online businesses for the last 15 years. Started on Etsy back in 2009, and my hand-made craft business grew to having my own site: www.SewColorfulDesigns.com, selling on Amazon, and at local craft shows. Photography is a new creative adventure that I'm loving and learning about.


Nikki is the REAL talent / photographer and I'm the Jill-of-all-Trades; office manager, website designer, social media manager, photo-shoot assistant, etc...
